FAQs

General Candle Care + Wick Trimming

  • Trimming your wicks before each burn will provide safe and optimal burning and to prevent additional soot. It will also extend the life of your candle.
    • For cotton core wicks - trim your wick to a 1/4 inch
    • For wooden wicks - trim your wick to 1/8 inch. It is essential to ensure that your wooden wick is properly trimmed before each lighting to have optimal and safe burns.
  • Allow melted wax to reach near the edges of your vessel on the first burn to prevent possible tunneling.
  • Never burn your candle more than 4 hours during each use.
  • Only burn the candle on heat resistant surfaces. The lid can be placed under the vessel if it’s on a leveled surface.
  • Stop use when there is 1/4 inch of wax remaining.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from flammable objects while burning.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Crystal Infused Candle Care

  • You can remove your crystal before burning your candle or you can keep it in the vessel as it has been tested for safe burning. It is very important to take every necessary precaution when burning an object inside your candle.
  • Follow the General Candle Care + Wick Trimming instructions above.
  • In some rare instances your crystal may be too close to your wick which may prevent the flame from burning fully. A fire resistant tool such as a spoon or skewer can be used to move your crystal away from the wick. Extreme caution is needed when dealing with hot wax.
  • You can remove your crystal when your candle is at the end of life.
  • Wipe any remaining wax from your crystal with a paper towel and toss in the waste basket. Never pour hot wax down a drain. Your crystal can be washed with mild dish soap under warm water. Dry off your crystal immediately and recharge in the sun.

What Are Scent Notes?

Scent notes are individual layers of ingredients that make up the fragrance and are usually categorized in three types. The top notes, heart notes (or known as the middle or mid-notes), and bottom notes.

Top notes are the scents you experience first and play a role in setting "first impressions. The notes usually evaporate quickly to transition to the next parts of the fragrance. Some common top notes include citrus or light floral scents.

Heart notes are the "heart" of the candle and is experienced after the top notes have faded carrying some top notes over. Notes remain about 70% of the fragrance. Some notes include aromatic florals, spice like pepper or cinnamon.

Base notes also assist heart notes with the lighter notes and present itself when the candle is at a full melt pool coming at the tail end of the experience. This is usually a rich and heavy note with longer lasting effects. Some base notes include vanilla, musk, and woodsy scents.
